Every date, prayer time, and qibla bearing on this site is produced by astronomical and calendrical calculation — not by a mosque, scholar, or government body. It is meant as a convenient, reliable estimate, not a religious ruling (fatwa) or an official determination.

Hijri dates and moon sighting

The Hijri calendar is lunar, and the start of each month is properly confirmed by moon sighting or official announcement, which varies by country and authority. This site calculates dates using the standard tabular (civil) Islamic calendar, a fixed, predictable pattern that closely tracks real sightings but will not always match every country exactly. A manual day-offset is available on the converter page if your local announcement differs — use it to align the whole site with your community.

Ramadan and the two Eids especially

For the start of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha in particular, always follow the announcement from your local mosque or national religious authority rather than relying solely on this site's estimate.

Prayer times

Calculated prayer times (adhan) can differ by a few minutes from your local mosque's posted times (iqamah), and different calculation methods can differ by several minutes from each other for the same city. When in doubt, follow your mosque's posted schedule.

Differences between traditions

Where Islamic traditions differ on a date, calculation convention, or practice — for example the date of Mawlid al-Nabi, or the choice between prayer time calculation methods — this site presents the options rather than favouring one as definitive.
